Shantuluze, an Irish Point winner, ran well to win a bumper on heavy ground at Kelso in January before disappointing in similar conditions at Carlisle. He is working well and returns for hurdles debut after a good break.
Likely Threats- Markham & Melekhov
I expect a big run in this six runner contest with most to fear from Markham and Melekhov.
New List ran well for me at Hexham in Mid September returning from an absence and wind surgery. He should be suited by the step up in trip and the ground.
Likely Threats- Handy Hollow
Handy Hollow with two wins in his last three runs looks the main rival despite a four-pound rise I hope my horse gets competitive.
Lofgren, a winner of five races under rules, disappointed at Warwick in late September after five creditable runs including a win at Cartmel in August. This previous course winner is equipped with a tongue tie and blinkers in today’s four-runner affair, and perhaps they will bring about the necessary improvement.
Likely Threats- Mill Quest
Mill Quest from the Gordon Elliott’s stable looks the chief threat.
Cousin Oscar won two hurdle races at the track in early 17 and returns after wind surgery and an eight-month break. On the best of his form, my horse should have a good chance and will be suited by the trip and track.
Likely Threats- Jaunty Thor
Hat trick seeking Jaunty Thor will provide stiff opposition.
