We look ahead to Brian’s five rides this afternoon at Market Rasen.
Is still a maiden after 11 flat attempts and a hurdle run at Ffos Las 25 days ago. He needs considerable improvement to get into contention in today’s race.
The principals appear to be Soldier Of Love and General Custard.
A winner of six races, showed some improvement on the second of two comeback runs last month at Catterick following a break of 544 days. He is a previous course winner but needs to step up again to get involved today. He is well handicapped and a return to better days could see him make the frame.
Quantum Of Solace on chasing debut, may be the one to beat.
Got off the mark on chasing debut for me at Ayr in early November after a 182 day break and wind surgery. This was a much improved effort compared to what he had achieved previously. He jumped and traveled well and a repeat over 3 miles should give him an excellent chance.
Pookie Pekan is the danger in this race.
A bumper and hurdles winner, has been off the track since March when finishing second to Our Lucas in a two mile hurdle at Ayr. He is a promising type, who is in good form at home and will be suited by the step up in distance in this five runner affair.
Renwick and Jam Session are the threats.
Ran a couple of good races in the spring including a win at Sedgefield in March. The last two outings have been disappointing including the latest at Hexham 27 days ago. A return to the form of earlier in the year would give my horse an e/w chance in a very ordinary race.
