With next round qualifications up for grabs for the group leaders & do-or-die survival plans being drafted by the those off the pace, expect to see some formidable clashes!
Here are our top five betting tips for tonights Champions League’s ties (odds suspect to change):
PSG haven’t looked the same force they were this time last year. With the introduction of Thomas Tuchel, PSG have replaced their ‘throw the kitchen sink at it’ style for a more pragmatic approach under the German manager- a method still to be perfected.
PSG went into the previous game against Napoli off the back of an impressive run of home form. However, they failed to make it count, squeezing out a 2-2 draw, thanks to a Di Maria wonder goal in extra-time. Many would suggest that their luck may run out this e.
Napoli will consider themselves hard-done-by in Paris a fortnight ago. But with the home advantage, and Cavani a major doubt for the game, they will be fancying themselves.
Things haven’t gotten off to the best starts for Thierry Henry at his ex-club. With four games without a win since his tenor began, many will doubt if the French legend has the pedigree to steady the ship at Monaco. But with a 1-1 draw between the two sides last time out, both are aware that this is a must win and will be going for broke.
With the return of some key players and, Monaco’s historical dominance against Belgium sides, we will sway with the French on this one.
Probably the safest shout on our Betslip but it’s hard to go against Liverpool in Europe this season. The Reds are comfortably perched at the top of the group and go into tonight’s game with soaring confidence after the 4-0 dismantling of Red Star a fortnight ago.
Liverpool know how crucial back to back wins are tonight against the Serbian outlet; with PSG & Napoli waiting in the penultimate and final groupstage games.
Barcelona have been on a tear of late. Despite Lionel Messi being absent from the side, the Catalonian giants have destroyed every team put in front of them. A fortnight ago, Inter came to the Nou Camp with a solid plan to shut-up shop and frustrated Barca from playing the only way they know how.
However, in doing so, Inter starved their star man, Mario Icardi, from touching the ball in the oppositions box. Inter eventually succumbed to the passing brilliance of Barca, conceding two goals late in the game. The Italian outfit will have to switch things up this time around.
However, with a possible appearance tonight from a returning Lionel Messi, it’s hard to see any other outcome but an away win.
Many wouldn’t favour Diego Simeone’s side after their 4-0 thrasing against group leaders, Dortmund two weeks ago. But Atletico Madrid away is never an easy tie. Much like Hollywood hitman, John Wick: Simeone is a man of focus and conviction and you can guarantee he will have his troops rallied up for revenge.
Dortmund have been on a great run, however. With inspired performances from English wonderkid, Sancho, they have found the perfect balance of raw and experienced attacking talent.
Diego Costa & Thomas Lemar are both absent from tonight’s perceedings. Atletico will find it difficult despite the home advantage. Lets call this one even.
