Norwich City and Sheffield United have already secured automatic promotion to the English elite league and will be watching to see who will follow them into ‘the best league in the world’.
Leeds currently sit in third and just like West Brom and Aston Villa, they have secured their own playoff spot.
Leeds have a combined 83 points, while West Brom sit in fourth place with 80 points. Also securing their playoffs spot is Aston Villa who are behind them in fifth place with 76 points.
Looking further down the table is where things start to get interesting. Derby County led by Manager Frank Lampard, sit in the final playoff spot with 71 points but will be looking over their shoulder as Tony Pulis’ men in Middlesbrough are behind them by just a point on 70 points.
Derby has three wins and two draws out of their last five contests, beating Bristol City, QPR, Bolton and drawing with Swansea and Birmingham. Which isn’t too bad form at all. While Boro has four wins and one loss out of their last five games, beating Reading, Stoke, Hull, Bolton and one loss was given to them by Nottingham Forest.
Aston Villa v Norwich, Derby v West Brom and Rotherham v Middlesbrough are the games fans of the promotion hopefuls will keep a close eye on.
