Horse Racing Tips: Brian Hughes at Bangor Racecourse

Our inside man, Brian Hughes is back for more horse racing tips. The little man has four races this Monday at Bangor racecourse with insight into who will give him the biggest challenge. Scroll down to check out the Armagh native’s tips for his four runs this evening.

5.40: In the opening maiden hurdle, Promise Of Peace formerly trained in Germany joined the McCain stable last month. He has a good flat form including a fifth-place finish in the German Derby. He has had a gelding operation and makes his hurdling debut today. He has schooled well at home and I am hopeful of a big run. Thelunarschooner and Henry Smith both with hurdling experience look the chief threats.

6.40: Beach Break was a good winner for me by nine lengths at Cartmel last month after three consecutive seconds. He carries joint top weight in this six runner handicap hurdle and if he gains confidence from his success could be competitive. He has been sharpened up by blinkers and they are retained today… Atlantic Storm and Ambre Des Marais look the main rivals.

7.40: Stay In Touch is still a maiden after 11 rules attempts and was beaten 13 lengths in fourth on his last run at Perth in early July. He drops the blinkers today in favour of cheekpieces and tries a longer trip. Silk Run a course winner last time is the main danger…

8.10: Never A Word ran well at Uttoxeter in Mid July finishing fifth beaten just over 4 lengths in a two-mile hurdle. This was a considerable improvement on earlier runs. He is up in trip and if he builds on his last run could have a solid chance. Pretty Reckless has good recent placed form and is the main opponent.
