As we head into the NFL Gameweek 5, there are only three teams in the league who are still undefeated: The Patriots, Chiefs and 49ers.
The Rams take on the Seahawks this Thursday Night, but let’s look at the season so far…
This past weekend saw current Superbowl champions the New England Patriots record a 16-10 hard-fought victory over the tough Buffalo Bills away from home.
QB Tom Brady failed to get any form of offense going and had to rely on his defence to win the game. Kyle Van Noy rose to the challenge and was named AFC Defensive player of the week.
Defence wins championships as they say! The Patriots took their record in the AFC East up to 4-0 and lead the pack ahead of the 3-1 Bills.
It should really be another walk in the park for Bill Blichick’s team in the AFC East until the later conference stages.
The Patriots travel to the Washington Redskins this Sunday in their NFL Gameweek 5 match-up.
On Sunday night Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes was faced with a brick wall in the form of the Detroit Lions pass-rush. What character the young QB showed! (He’s on the Madden20 cover for a reason)
Like he always does, Mahomes led his team to an impressive victory over the stubborn Matt Patricia at Ford Field.
Travis Kelce and Shady McCoy teamed up for this impressive touchdown below!
The Chiefs now sit top of the AFC West with an undefeated 4-0 record and look like a team to be feared. With star receiver Tyreek Hill due back soon this will be a welcoming offensive weapon for Mahomes.
The Chiefs will take on the Colts next on Sunday Night Football.
On Monday Night Football all eyes where on the Saints and undefeated Cowboys in the primetime matchup of the weekend. What a disappointment it was…
Saints QB Drew Brees has been ruled out for a number of weeks due to a thumb injury. Here it was Teddy Bridgewater’s time to shine under centre. While on the opposing team could Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliot and Amari Cooper continue their impressive form?
The run game was where the battle was expected to be won but it was a winning field goals from Saints kicker Will Lutz that won the low-scoring game.
Not the most exciting game in the world, however both teams now hold a 3-1 record and look to get back on track this weekend.
You may be wondering why am I including the 49ers in this post? Yes they did have a bye week in Gameweek 4 but haven’t lost a game this season.
The 49ers once had a dominant dynasty but have been written off for the past number of years, and have the former Superbowl finalists Rams and champions Seahawks in their division.
Kyle Shanahan has done an incredible re-built with the 49ers and the fruits are starting to show. Jimmy Garoppolo has found a nice run of form, behind an incredible defence with first overall pick Nick Bosa.
Standing at 3-0 record heading into this week, they face a Browns team who have been hot and cold this year. Another chance to continue their unbeaten streak.
As we head into the NFL Gameweek 5, let’s take a look at some tips for this weekend!
