Four straight months of the gridiron games every Sunday from here on out. NFL Sunday’s are finally back!
Whenever we embark on a new NFL journey each and every season, we begin with 32 teams with aspirations of winning the Super Bowl. (So the Patriots have already won then?)
It seems every year we end up with the New England Patriots. In each of the last eight seasons, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have led their team to at least the AFC Championship game and reached the Super Bowl in five out of those years, winning the Lombardi Trophy three times.
The regular season (league format for those football heads) begins tonight!
Both the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets are hoping to take big leaps in the second years of franchise QB Josh Allen and Sam Darnold, but they must prove themselves in a division with the champions. (The Patriots of course)
The opening games of the regular season are hard to predict, but you can’t dismiss talent and better coaching. The Bill’s under the guidance of coach Sean McDermott look for inspiration from QB Josh Allen in his second year.
But the Jets, with star RB Lev’eon Bell will pound the football down their rivals throats. The magnificent offensive mind of Adam Gase mixed with another second year prospect in Sam Darnold, with a solid defense should shut down the Buffalo threat.
Patrick Mahomes. That is all I really need to say. The Chiefs QB and 2018 regular season MVP is set for another huge year, with the fast Tyreek Hill and Damien Williams at his disposal the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t stand a chance!
For Jacksonville, the arrival of Super Bowl 52 MVP Nick Foles gives them the Quarterback they have lacked for a number of years. They have lost a number of stars from their excellent 2017 season, but could be rejuvenated under their new leader on offense.
The Cleveland Browns are one of the teams hyped to have a great season this year. With talent such as Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett, Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry who wouldn’t bet on them? Well, me.
The Browns have placed former assistant coach Freddie Kitchens as leader of their operation, a man who has had zero head-coaching experience and has a battle to contain the egos in the room. While the Tennasee Titans have defensive mind Mike Vrabel at the helm and a rock solid defense.
A team who previously defeated the New England Patriots last year, are one who make it hard for teams to score and grind out a result. I can see a frustrating night ahead for ‘The Dawg Pound’ Browns who will define that meaning later tonight!
Tom Brady v Ben Rothlisberger, Patriots v Steelers and Bill Belichick v Mike Tomlin. Two of the most stories franchises in the history of the NFL. This one should be a cracker!
What else more do I need to say than the first prime time Sunday Night Football game between two divisional rivals will be straight fire. Its only how both Quarterbacks know with both coaches out to gain early bragging rights.
