A hurdle and chase winner in 2016. Has had three reasonable runs at the course in July and August this year. He returns after a two month break and has an e/w chance in this very open contest.
Last time winner Soupy Soups and Creadan Grae look to be the main opponents in this one.
He comes with a good record on the flat in Germany. Made his hurdling debut for the McCain yard at Bangor in August finishing fifth beaten by twelve and a half lengths. He has had wind surgery and is fitted with a tongue tie for today’s contest. There is no doubt he will be fitter and more fluent at his hurdles today.
The main danger in this one will come from the favourite Global Jackpot.
Foiled in his hat trick chase attempt when beaten a length on ground softer than ideal at Cartmel last month. I expect this genuine type to run another good race in this very competitive novice chase.
Last time winner Cubomania and El Terremoto, from the stable responsible for the winner in the last two years, look to be the main rivals.
Brian Hughes in action
He has not really sparkled since his fourtimer in 2016. He ran his best race for sometime over course and distance in Mid August and hopefully is on the way back. An improvement on that performance would give him an e/w shout.
Perfect Timing, a good second at the track on his penultimate outing and Boric look the principal opponents.
Has yet to get off the mark after nine runs but was placed in novice hurdles in June and July this year. In the latter contest at this track he was beaten by a neck before a disappointing outing at Hexham ten days ago following wind surgery. If the last run is ignored he could have a good chance.
Cockley Beck an easy winner last time has her weight hike nullified by her very good claimer and is the one to beat.
