Portadown welcome Newry in bid to maintain strong form

After eight wins from ten this season, Toals Official Betting partners Portadown sit top of the pile in the Bluefin Sport Championship.

Recap: Portadown 1 v 0 PSNI

Last Saturday the Ports edged an evenly contested game against PSNI to secure their eighth consecutive league win. After looking dangerous from set pieces throughout, Paddy McNally’s towering header from a George Tipton corner gave the Ports all three points. The game wasn’t all plain sailing for the league leaders. An early red card for Chris Crane left Portadown with ten men for most of the game bringing goalkeeper Bobby Edwards in to the spotlight. The American’s save against Tony Tumelty late in the first half was crucial to the Ports’ win. Chances for Liam McKenna, Lee Bonis and Ryan Carmichael tested the resolve of the PSNI defence as full-time approached. McNally’s header in the 87th minute was just reward for Portadown who largely controlled proceedings in the second half.
