Ireland Celebrating Six Nations Success Last year
February 1st, 2019

Six Nations – Easy For Ireland?

The Six Nations Kicks off at 8pm on Friday 1st February. Ireland are hot favourites ahead of England, Wales Scotland, France and Italy in that order.

Worthy Favourites?

Ireland have moved from 8th place in the World ranking to a close 2nd to New Zealand. After beating New Zealand, S Hansen stated that “Ireland are now favourites for the World Cup.” Of course Schmidt didn’t participate in those mind games. Ireland away in Wales in the final game may well be crucial for both teams. Ireland are hot favourites for the 2019 Six Nations. Betting is available on here.

You can make arguments for England and Wales winning the Six Nations. Scotland have improved massively but this tournament is too early for them to truly compete. France, well they’re France. You cannot write them off, although the Bookies have. They will provide a mixture of Brute Force and Flair. Their issue will be with direction and combining the two through the phases. France are definitely a work in progress.

Which Players should make an impact?

Obviously, Ireland have J Sexton and J Stockdale. World Player of the year and currently the World best finisher. J Larmour may well be Irelands next find. France have A Dupont coming through in the important Scrum Half role. If he clicks like his club form they could surprise a few. Tomos Williams of Wales is also expected to have an impact in this Six Nations. Add in the experienced performers, Nowell (Wing/Number Seven) should have an interesting tournament, Itoje will be crucial for England. S Hogg and Finn Russell will power Scotland but Injuries look to have weakened the squad.

Sexton readies another 3 pointer

I think Ireland have the tools to succeed again. I would look at Wales being the Value in the Outright Market. England won’t be far away either. I think Stockdale will continue his remarkable rise. Wales will compete, France will surprise and Scotland will continue to improve. Sexton and Murray will show how important they are as a partnership. Im expecting a thriller and think no grand slam with an extremely exciting last round of matches!! Oh yeah Italy are playing too
