I travel to the Far Hills New Jersey in the USA today for one horse.
I travel across the Atlantic to ride Hammersly Lake
in The American Grand National, which unlike Aintree is run over hurdles and a lesser distance of two miles five furlongs. My horse has been in excellent form this season with two wins and a runner up position in his last three outings. We have ridden him up with the pace as a way of getting him used to the American way of slow, slow and sprint. He ran well last year for me in this contest finishing fifth beaten under five lengths. I hope we are closer this year and take advantage of our second bite in the Big Apple. Then its back to Sedgefield to ride in Toals.com
Durham International Raceday.
