I’m at Doncaster today. Going is officially Good.
Weakfield, an Irish Point winner disappointed when I was in the saddle at Carlisle 18 days ago. It was, however, his first run in over a year and he should be a lot sharper on hurdling debut today. He is a well-regarded son of Court Cave and should have an e.w chance.
Minella Bobo and Drumlee Watar look the strongest rivals.
Charmant, successful in three of his last six starts, won well for me on chasing debut at Sedgefield 29 days ago. He did so, jumping accurately and winning snugly by 13 lengths. The track and conditions should suit and I think he will go close with the stable in form.
Peppay Le Pugh is the one to beat.
Kauto Riko successful three times for me was pulled up on his comeback run after the first at Aintree in a handicap chase 20 days ago. He normally goes well fresh and a return to the form of a year ago would give him every chance.
Buster Thomas and Nightfly in good form recently look the main threats.
Blakerigg won impressively for me at Ayr 27 days ago finishing six lengths clear. This was his first run since wind surgery and hopefully, he improves and puts in another big run today. I am looking forward to the ride.
Top weight Mon Palois may be the danger
